Our Team

The project is led by a multi-disciplinary team of researchers associated with TU Dublin and Queen's University Belfast. With experience from around the world, our team brings a variety of knowledge in post-conflict studies, criminology, international relations, peacebuilding, community-state dynamics, and justice mechanisms. The researchers have extensive backgrounds with security-related efforts both North and South on the Island of Ireland. Their interests include security governance, criminology, postcolonial theory, justice mechanisms, policing systems, and minority experiences of crime.

BORDEX will produce new knowledge on the governance of (in)security, civil society resilience and the role of these institutions in maintaining peace and security; and will develop accessible outputs aimed at civil, policy and political actors to inform debate and develop the post-Brexit security field on the Island.

BORDEX is funded by the Department of Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science / HEA North-South Research Programme, 2022-2024.
